Hayward Zucchini Festival

The annual two-day Zucchini Festival in Hayward features live music, arts and crafts, children's rides, and food—including, of course, zucchini. Adventurous festival attendees can sample the green squash in pasta, quiche, bread, sandwiches, ice cream, pizza, sausage, cakes and more.

Hayward-Russell City Blues Festival

Russell City, once a small farming town, is now incorporated into the city of Hayward. From the 1940s through the 1960's, this diverse community was known for its rustic clubs featuring musicians playing a unique style of Delta Blues. The Hayward-Russell City Blues Festival is presented by the Bay Area Blues Society every July, and celebrates the rich musical history of Russell City and Hayward.

Downtown Hayward's annual holiday festival features music, food, children's rides, and, of course, a tree lighting ceremony. Live entertainment takes place at City Hall and at the main stage on B Street & Mission Boulevard, across from Newman Park.
